Lynyrd Skynyrd once wrote "Muscle Shoals has got 'The Swampers' and they've been known to pick a song or two. Lord they get me off so much, they pick me up when I'm feelin blue, now how bout you..."
This is the last verse to "Sweet Home Alabama" and it was written about myself and 4 or 5 other guys from Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in North Western Alabama who were responsible for some of the greatest soul music and rock n roll music ever recorded.
I started working there in 1969 and have recorded with the Rolling Stones, Albert King, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Seger, Joe Cocker, Millie Jackson, Jimmy Cliff, Joni Mitchell, Delbert Mcclinton, Michael Bolton and many others.
But if you want my full resume you'll have to go to 'allmusicguide' and enter my name or "Mendo Hotel".
But this is my first solo CD!
I'm very proud of it and I believe you'll enjoy it as much as the people I've worked with that influenced me.
Sincerely, Wayne Perkins
