Andy Kowalewski has been playing guitar since he was 15, buying his first guitar after hearing Carlos Santana playing "Black Magic Woman". Over the years Andy was involved in more than one band, playing cover pieces perfecting his skills and musical ability. In 2004/2005, he produced his first orignal music CD "6+61" which covers years of musical influences from a wide mix of artists inthe jazz and blues arena. "6+61" gets its name from the 6 strings and 61 keys used on the primary instruments used to convey the melodies in this musical offering. Andy has tried to produce a CD which lets the listener form musical pictures and become part of their individual canvases. This includes evoking images of dancing in Paris (Waltz on Pont Neuf) or being on "5th Avenue" in New York. Songs like "Flying Free" or "Grazin the Sun" let one fly through the sky or float through space. "Harry" evokes memories of the great Harry Belafonte, while "Berry Lee Pie" pays homage to the classic rock and roll era of the 50's. "Speak Easy" takes one back to the 20's while "Beat Nik" evokes images of a coffee house in the 60's. Everyone comes away with their own favourites from "6+61" because it covers a lot musical ground with some interesting twists. "6+61" features some subtle guitar and keyboard work and really lets the listener take an enjoyable ride.
