I have so often admired the many talented individuals playing music in this northeastern West Virginia area. It's amazing to me that with all the music that has been written thru the millennia, and especially in the past 50 years, that anyone can come up with something new. And so, after experiencing so often in the past coupla years exactly this from local talent I thought it was a shame that no one else was hearing what I was hearing.
I wanted to do something about that. I had been recording the shows I organized on a little Sony Mini-Disc recorder, but it never seemed to do justice to the artists, mostly due to the limitations of the equipment and the venue. Plus, I didn't have a lot of control over the final product. I had recently sold some PA equipment I had an re-invested it into better recording components. Now I just had to proposition and select the various artists.
Starting Wednesday, November 26th, I started hosting live recording of local acoustic artists at The Book -N- Bean coffee house in Fairmont, West Virginia. Selected songs are part of this CD and is to be marketed both locally and nationally. Original songs were requested and any vocal artists could utilize available house talent.
These sessions were organized and financed by myself, Perry Greza, in an effort to capture and help promote the talent of our local artists. It is hoped that some spark of interest may be generated towards any or all artists participating, their lyrics and music.
