Aimless Pursuit is a Philadelphia area Acoustic String Band that plays Bluegrass, Old Time, County Blues, Western Swing and Contemporary Bluegrass. Aimless Pursuit is a 4-piece group influenced by Hot Rize, Old Crow Medicine Show and Old and in the Way/Grey and features traditional acoustic bluegrass instrumentation consisting of Upright Bass, Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, and Harmonica.
Aimless Pursuit embraces Bluegrass Tradition with their Pennsylvania Roots. It is called Pennsylvania Bluegrass and it is an energetic style, rich with harmonies and "new look" arrangements of traditional songs with instrumentation that fits the music. It is accessible to both experienced and novice listeners of bluegrass music.
The recording moves through all the styles they encompass, including the original track, Paradise at Last - a song about a town in the endless mountains of Pennsylvania that can only be reached on a rickety truck through the bear tooth pass, where the moonshine is behind the turpentine and you'll hear the best county music in the land!
Aimless Pursuit, Pennsylvanian Bluegrass and Paradise at Last are about being true to your roots. And accordingly, Paradise at Last reflects our appreciation and our interpretation of these classic music forms.
