In the fall of 2002, Kate Ashby Chiles and Lindsay Blair Wilkinson met...and immediately a musical match was made. Kate Ashby, a Culpeper, Virginia native, and Lindsay Blair, a Richmond, Virginia native, both independently came to Nashville to pursue their individual musical endeavors. Kate Ashby, a 2001 graduate of The College of William and Mary, decided to come to Nashville because of her desire to "just be where the music is" and focus on songwriting. After graduating from The University of Virginia in 2002, Lindsay Blair brought both her a capella experience from UVA and her passion for performing to Music City in an effort to pursue her long-time love of singing. The two Virginians instantly hit it off both personally and musically, and immediately began playing and singing together at open mic and writer's nights in Nashville.

A mixture of acoustic pop, folk, and country...this dynamic duo combines sassy lyrics with beautifully-tight harmonies. Big influences on the duo have been the Indigo Girls and Guster...with Tori Amos, Dixie Chicks, Sarah McLachlan, and Counting Crows stylings here and there. Kate Ashby and Lindsay Blair have a hard time putting a genre on their musical style because every song brings something different to the table. From the sweet piano ballad "Melt With Me" and the fun-loving, though suggestively-titled "Ooohh," to the heart-sick "If I Could" or the crowd-pleasing-in-your-face-boy-beware "Distraction," you truly never know what these girls are going to sing about next! But, you can be sure that as long as they are making music together, nothing but sass, honesty, and a passion for music will be radiated from these two women.

In July of 2003 Kate Ashby and Lindsay Blair decided to venture to Little Hollywood Studio in East Nashville to record an album of their original material. With engineer Dan Ramsey, producer Joe Webber, and a plethora of talented Nashvegas musicians, KA and LB have put both passion and vision into this project and released "Beyond the Walls" in November of 2003. Featuring piano, electric and acoustic guitars, violin, banjo, mandolin, and a host of other percussive instruments, this album evokes stylings of rock, Celtic, country, and pop with each new song that is played. How these two women manage to combine multiple genres with poignant lyrics and soaring melodies is testament to the unique sound this duo brings to the music community in Nashville.
