Amy Tanner lives in a small town outside of Montgomery, Alabama. Having been a wife and mother for nine years, Amy has only recently received and pursued her calling and purpose in life. She was raised a preacher's daughter in the state of Alabama having been involved with many congregations growing up. As a child she wrote speeches and won local speaking contests. Having a love for children, Amy pursued a college career as a teacher just like her mother and father. However, God had other plans for her. Realizing her calling, Amy stays at home with her children, writes books and music, sings locally, and travels around the state telling a message of hope and inspiration to other women.
She is the founder of True Reflections Women's Ministry which began in July 2000. Her ministry is now available to women worldwide and is becoming known to other women via Internet through her informative website. Check it out!
Being dedicated to the service of today's Christian woman, Amy's experiences with loss, death, and tragedy have molded her into the woman she is today. Her ministry offers women new educational resources, personally written musical releases, inspirational and uplifting messages, and outstanding literary support.
She has founded in conjunction with True Reflections Ministry a ministry that comes from her heart. Having lost nine children, her inspiring message to other women is promising and positive. Named after her first child, "Heavenly Hope " currently serves many women dealing with death, loss and tragedy. This ministry was a result of her doctor's attempt to find her when his patients needed council to deal with a loss of a child. Amy is grateful of their relationship and such an awesome opportunity to share her faith with other women.
Amy is an active participant in several women's ministries in her local congregation. She writes monthly articles for her local paper and sings with her church's singing ensemble. "The table of Grace" is an extaordinary blend of voices that shares an amazing story of just how God blesses a child of God. Often times the blessings are too many to recall. Through God's amazing grace we can and do receive the forgiveness we need and as a result of God's grace we forgive others. This song is a reminder that grace is often taken for granted but never truly forgotten by those who experience it.
Amy is confident that God has called her to pursue her musical and literary talents as well as inform others about a wonderful invitation God sends to all women. "From stained glass to pure snow" is a song that shares a story of her journey in and out of valleys and mountain peaks. Amy's life is characteristic of a life where tragedy and death give birth to life and rededication. This song was written exclusively for the women Amy speaks to through her ministry.
From an early age Amy has enjoyed music of all types.
She fondly remembers sitting on her grandfather's lap and singing to old hymns while he played guitar. She is proud of her musical background; her maternal grandfather learned to play piano when he was three and her paternal grandfather played in a band and appeared on a local radio program in the 1950"s.Her father and aunt toured with him as vocalists winning numerous talent contests. Amy feels honored to be a part of her religious heritage having found out recently that her great - grandfather was a writer. Amy plans to release an album that features and honors her family heritage in a few years. She is currently writing songs for this album.
How she began writing is phenominal and inspiring! Writing was all she could do when she lost her first baby the week before Christmas 1994. This way of coping provided her initial material with which she was able to in turn help other women with death. Amy has endured much pain and loss in her life but her dedication to doing God's will opened up many doors for her. Her prayer to God for his will in her life to be made known brought about in her an ability she had never even thought about before.
In fact, when initially she began writing she doubted the songs were hers feeling sure she had heard them before.
Nevertheless, as a result of her dedication and commitment to God's answered prayer she began doing acapella vocal work in her local town performing her own music. After being heard one day during her most disastrous performance to date, she was given the name of an individual whose ministry it was to help local songwriters get started.
Amy found herself in a studio where she recorded her first record demo. What once seemed a dream is now a reality. Amy explains that every woman dreams but few live in their dream. "If I can touch you" speaks of a biblical story where a woman of great faith dreamed of the day she would become new. In his presence she sought to touch Jesus's garment to be healed. What an amazing song filled with new hope for those women everywhere who seek new life but fail to find it in the world or in others! Where it is found is through the relationship of father and child.
Amy motivates women to find their purpose in life. She speaks to women through her music as she explains her understanding of some great life lessons she has learned. Her music provides new meaning to today's praise and worship. Her style is heartfelt and honest, her voice melts your heart and her musical style is delightful and inspiring. " You are my child" was written about her relationship with her heavenly father but is also special to her because the end reveals her amazing love for her daughter. Aware of God's perfect plan, Amy seeks to share with others through this song how God's love for her included giving her a special gift of hope. Her children are her reminders of just how much love she has been given.
She says she will never be too busy to talk to anyone about her life, her love, and her relationship with Jesus. Her desire is to serve others through inspirational music and a heart full of love and compassion for others. Her desire to serve others is an inspiration to others as she continues today in praise of the one who made it all possible." He Is" shouts praises of a wonderful savior through a unique blending of hip-hop sounds and encouraging messages.
Amy takes no credit for her work. She simply and without reservation replies that God has done it all.
