My name is Andrew Ross and I am a 17 year old student at Southridge High School in Beaverton, Oregon. By The Fire is my third CD. The tone of By The Fire is different, hitting points in all directions, expressing moments of all emotions...testimony to the passing of time, yet forever timeless all the same. Music is a language of a different world itself, yet it lives and rings in and of this world, here, that we are so grateful to live in. I can't see life any other way. It has it's times of pure simplicity, and it's calling for deep complexity to mean something more, and sometimes too much. But it's the striking of chords that bring me back to reality, whether how complex, or how simple. The best and most beautiful part of this art form is that of any other in my belief, not the gift and honor to create or play such music, but to share it with all those who have gone before us, and to share it with all of you. Words or lyrics are not called for in this style..it is not only a contribution of instrumental sytle, it is a contribution amongst a language which cannot be spoken any other way, than through that of the piano and guitar, here, on this CD.
