Sappington is an amalgamation of ordinarily disparate sounds that create a beautifully unique listening experience. Referencing the swirling space sounds of Slowdive and Spiritualized with the contemporary electronic sensibilities of AIR and Radiohead, Sappington combine guitar and keyboard melodies, disposable samples and discarded drum sequences to architect multi-dimensional sonic landscapes with a style all their own.

Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Ann Talbott's beautiful and broken voice weaves delicate but deliberate patterns. Amidst a collection of Ann's mutually hopeful and heartbreaking chord progressions, programmer/co-songwriter/guitarist Keith Vidal lays out broken-down analogue drum loops with fragmented media transmissions, effectively deepening each piece with layer upon layer of counter-melody, samples and field recordings. The amazing thing about Sappington is what a huge dynamic range they cover and how they execute it with only two people on stage.

Since their live debut in January 2001, Sappington has played with notable national acts, including Tristeza (Tiger Style) 90 Day Men (Southern), Tarentel (Neurot Recordings), Sonna (Temporary Residence), Shipping News (Touch n' Go), The Stratford 4 (Jetset) and Pleasure Forever (SubPop).

Consistently large crowds have attended shows at prominent San Francisco and Los Angeles venues, including Bottom of the Hill, Edinburgh Castle, The Fold at the Silverlake Lounge, Spaceland and The Knitting Factory.

The band was nominated as one of the top ten Bay Area bands on the SF Indie List -their EP was nominated as one of the top ten albums of 2000 by Aquarius Records. Reviews of the EP can be found on www.babysue.com, www.meanstreet.com, www.epitonic.com, and www.matamore.net. Radio stations KUSF, KALX, WUSC have all played Sappington in regular rotation.
