Debut album from Poor Man Stylist and Mr No Tears' 'The Mighty Dub Machine' is a modern sound for a timeless art form. It is Dub inspired by Scientist, King Tubby, Willi Williams, The Wailers, Jah Shaka, Moss Man, Vibronics and so many more. It has elements of old reggae vocal harmonies with a touch of the progressive sounds of European Dub. Most of the tracks are steppers and will enlighten old Dub heads as well as new ones.
Poor Man Stylist who was recently featured on the Dub compilation 'Dub Royal - Best of Dub Flash' (DFR010) from Dub Flash Records, has worked with the likes of Willi Williams (Armigideon Time), Lord Tanamo (former Skatalite) and other musicians alike. "I play a lot of bass for artists, but I love to produce Dub. I only played maybe half of the bass lines on the new album (The Mighty Dub Machine)," says Poor Man Stylist, "but I go to Willi's (Willi Williams) place a lot and check out and help out in whatever way I can."
Mr No Tears is a songwriter and talented musician who has had many different influences coming from a Spanish background. "I learned how to sing from my dad, and learned how to play guitar from my brother," Mr No Tears adds, "Reggae has been my foundation for music and it's all still very new to me."
'The Mighty Dub Machine' is packed with style, Poor Man Stylist and Mr No Tears have demonstrated their ability to be true Dub stylists. They have managed to step away from the conventional sound and truly create something different.
