"An intruiging mix of driving industrial and infectious techno, 9voltRevolt's debut offering 'never' may make you want to cry, dance, scream, jump, or get really drunk and call your Ex at 4 a.m. But it will definitely leave you humming, energized and coming back for more.
Originally a studio act, a brilliant combination of Stephen Beasey and Brian Cain (The former best known as the Techno/House act 'Tokyo3', the latter best known as the Bassist for 'Crown of Thorns' and 'FrootBat'), 9voltRevolt has certainly outgrown it's CD case. With the addition of Keyboard/Programmer Joey Arena (formerly of 'Atomic' with Beasey), Drummer Daniel Peters (of Goth/Horror Metal act 'The Revenants') and Guitarist Jon Harrod (of 'The Numb'), 9vR is certainly coming soon to a venue near you. Based on the studio work, one can only assume this band will blow you away live.
The band's influences (cited as NIN, Front242, Skinny Puppy, Cat Rapes Dog, Frontline Assembly, KMFDM, Nitzer Ebb, Zeromancer, Assembalge 23, etc.) are clearly heard throughout the entire CD, but there is never any doubt that this is an original sound. There are those who think Industrial music can't be accessable and credible at the same time, but 9voltRevolt manages to pull both off nicely.
I strongly recommend you give this CD a place in your Techno/Industrial library. It'll be cool to pull it out in 5 years and say 'oh yeah, I've been listening to them since before they were big'."
