Carrie Hryniw grew up in the city of her birth, Edmonton, Alberta. At an early age she began playing the classical piano, and continued studying to attain a Bachelor of Music from the University of Alberta.
Upon graduating, Carrie began to explore the world through songwriting and travel. While experiencing the people and places of Canada, Europe and India, Carrie taught herself to play the guitar and began to write.
Her songs originate in aloneness and carry feelings of hope, hardship, and beauty.
Carrie Hryniw currently lives in Edmonton, with her daughter Sadie, where she works as a classical piano teacher and visual artist. She continues to explore songwriting.
