The 7th Day Buskers debut album "Long Live The Caboose" is an acoustic, foot-stomping collection of original and traditional folk, bluegrass, Irish and alternative country.
Busking is a European term for performing on city streets, subways and outdoor markets for tips.
This group originated when Shawn P. Rohlf moved to San Diego, CA from Amsterdam, where he'd been living as a full time musician for two years, opened up his banjo case at a Farmers Market on Sunday mornings and started busking.
What has evolved is a 5-piece band driven by Rohlf's guitar, banjo, harmonica and powerful vocals, Don Hickox ( fiddle, vocals), Steve Peavey (mandolin, guitar), Dwight Worden (fiddle) and Gregg Carpenter (upright bass).
"Long Live The Caboose was recorded live with no overdubs, effects, or hairspray," says Rohlf who produced the C.D., "to best represent the raw, live energy you get when you attend a Buskers show."
Long Live The Caboose succeeds in capturing the essence of these sidewalk performances into 16 cuts of Grade-A choice Americana.
