Legion of Prophets hails from Fresno, California which consists of a producer and an emcee/voice percussionist. Before the crew was established Jeff Cook A.K.A. "Prophecy", had conducted a wide range of producing for various hip-hop crews in Fresno and Oakland, (Prophecy's home town). He's been producing since 2000 and has already released his first album entitled "Surreal" which was a compilation.
Lejon Brooks A.K.A. Optimus Prime was known as a voice percussionist for two of the central valley's underground hip-hop crews, (Basement & Neighborhood Watch). January of 2004, Prime and Prophecy engaged in a collaborative project that was initially intended to only be three songs. Who would have thought that we were going to be a crew? "Metamorphosis Act," is a real strong effort to bring back true hip-hop. You will not hear about jewelry, cars or girls on this album. What you will hear is a variety of arrangements that make you remember when hip-hop was just plain fun. We would like to say our sound is a mix between Gangstarr, Mobb Deep, and Pete Rock.
