Jason Frerking, aka Another Lost Soul, is living out his dreams. A young veteran to hip hop, he has been rapping for almost 16 years, longer than some new stars have even been alive. He has recorded two albums independently, along with producing uncountable tracks for various groups, bands, and solo artits. All this before his 21st birthday. Under the crew name Tha OCT'z (Orange County Truez), he represented the people that have made the greatest influences on his music, his closest friends. Local success from his 2000 release, "Tha OCT'z present: The Chronicles", along with the experience of recording a full album has just been part of the story. Radio appearances, multiple collaborations, shows, and internet networking all played key roles in what would be one of the greatest evolutions in musical maturity.

"Letters from a Lost Soul" is a compilation of songs written and recorded from September, 2000 to February 2002. The outcome is a 68-minute CD that flies by any expectation from the earlier work. For the most part, it charts the progression of the artist (earlier recordings in the beginning/newer recordings near the end)and growth lyrically and musically. Every song is different.

"Come, Sweet Death" is a bass-driven, fast-spittin', dark track with eerie choir vocals. "You" is a love letter from this Lost Soul, and is already a favorite among the ladies. Collaborations like "No Doubt" (with Misft from Kaotic Krew) and "OC2KC" (with Lee Stylez from Undawurld) are true-to-rap hits. While "Faith", "So Many Questions", and "So Beautiful" become a spiritual journey in its ups and downs. Then there are the fun party tracks like "Hands Up!" and "Lemme Hav Sum Fun". The result is one album you don't want to miss. There's something for everyone here.
