Edson Lobo (bass/piano/composer) and Tita (guitar/vocals/composer) each have over 35 years experience with the cream of brasilian musicians, having performed and recorded with Tom Jobim, Stan Getz, Baden Powell, Deodato, Edu Lobo, Marcos Valle, Chico Buarque and Luiz Bonfa amongst others.
Edson co-founded The Trio Camara, who recorded the legendary albums 'Trio Camara' (bossa piano trio) and 'Brasilian Sound' (with scat group Les Masques) in Paris around 1967/8; both LPs were recently reissued with great global success. Tita began her career recording in Brasil in the late 50s, a time of Bossa Nova explosion, and by 1967 she became noticed outside of Brasil - Eddie Barclay of Barclay records invited her to Paris to cut an LP, 'L'Incomparable' (with Edson and Trio Camara).
'Gosto Tanto' is a spiritually uplifting contemporary yet timeless bossa classic, full of the joyously expressive joie de vivre of 'Novidade de Vida' (WMLP/CD-0004) and 'Partiu do Alto' (WMLP/CD-0025). Tita's sentiments in the liner notes for 'Novidade de Vida' are just as valid here - "We did this record to show something of ourselves and we're always happy when we can connect with people this way... The great thing about music is that to anyone who hears it for the first time it's always new".
Edson & Tita sum up their feelings for Gosto Tanto - "It's an honour to us having our music released in Europe and Japan by whatmusic.com. Our immense gratitude to the great participation on this album by musicians like João Donato, Robertinho Silva and everyone that took part on the recordings."
