Born in Russellville Arkansas in 1969, Donald has lived his whole life there. He grew up on the sounds of The Grand old Opry, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, and an array of country music legends. Country music was never really Donald's style. As for his mother and father. They had an endless collection of country music albums so this was what he had to listen to around the house growing up. There were those times that he would be in the car or over at a friends house and would get to listen to some Rock -n-Roll music always hoping to hear some Kiss or Ted Nugent. Since a child, Donald dreamed of performing in front of thousnads of people, but never really got the push to start learning to play an instrument. It was in the year 1986 at the age of 15 that this would change. While at deer camp in the fall of 1986, Donald's cousin asked him if he wanted to listen to some Raven and Metallica. It was the second song and title track of the Metallica album Master of Puppets that inspired Donald to pick the guitar up and learn to play it. While learning guitar, he also started playing the bass guitar which would be his instrument of choice in years to come. But needless to say, when Donald heard Master of Puppets, he had to find out who was playing those killer riffs. He would find that it was non other than James Hetfield who inspired him. For the next 18 years, Donald played and wrote songs. It was in early 2003, that Donald came out with his first album, Songs In The Night. This album would have a big 80's sound with a mixture of power ballads and rock tunes. Although it didn't sound like Metallica, the inspirations of James Hetfield were there and are still there today. Donald hopes someday of meeting James.
