Make a World is the debut release from this New York City based combo led by vocalist Jenni Muldaur. The daughter of Geoff and Maria Muldar, Jenni grew up surrounded by music and musicians. Jenni's own musical career took off in her teens when she was asked to join Todd Rundgren's band for a world tour and subsequent recording. Jenni's vocals soon became sought after and she went on the perform and record with the likes of Eric Clapton and Steely Dan. With deep roots in folk and blues, Jenni expanded her horizons and embraced modern musical styles in collaborations with such punk visionaries as John Cale and Robert Quine.
After some time in the business and the release of a pop album on Warner Bros., Jenni decided to make a record of simple, honest songs with a hit and run approach to songwriting. She teamed up with local guitarist and songwriter Steven Siegel and the process began. Upon hearing of the project, Richard Barone lobbied for the role of producer. Having been the lead man of The Bongos and the producer of a diverse array of artists, Barone was right for the job. The band was rounded out with some great local musicians and Make a World was recorded with the same honest intensity in which it was written. The result is an album that is quirky, funny, moving, soulful, rocking and true.
