San Jose based, AM Rising, an Adult Alternative band combines richly tailored vocals and dynamic instrumentation. Talented lead singer and rhythm guitarist, Stephanie Collosi, fronts the band with a powerful voice and soulfully driven melodies. She is backed by a versatile trio of musicians who blend various instruments and rich vocal harmonies to create compelling music.
Stephanie and percussionist, Craig Williams began playing together acoustically in the spring of 2000 and quickly brought in bassist, Mark LaClair, to deepen the sound. Having played the Bay-Area club scene together in a previous band (The Living Daylights), Mark and Craig quickly formed a tight rhythm section. Mark's talent on electric bass, stand-up acoustic bass and guitar is as formidable as Craig's skill and versatility on drums, percussion, guitar, mandolin and keyboards.
The more recent addition of lead guitarist, Michael Sullivan, has combined to create a more richly layered and dynamic sound. Together they produce poignant music that varies in texture and tone, from the rhythmic urgency of percussion- heavy songs like "Save Me" to the wistfully soulful mood of acoustic-led tunes like "Mexico" and "On My Way." A.M. Rising is currently playing electric and acoustic sets throughout the Bay-Area in support of a self-titled CD.
