"Bread on Water" is the debut album for twenty-seven year old Norfolk based songwriter, Adam Cates. It promises substance both musically and lyrically. Influenced in his youth by the likes of James Taylor and Billy Joel, Adam loves to tell stories and his warm vocals and acoustic guitar translate into an engaging narrative. Songs like "Kings & Queens" provide a blistering critique on pop idols while "Honest", track 6 on the album, offers a transparent self portrait. The final cut, "Drive Me to the River" is an all out worship anthem.
