Captain WAM's music targets the younger generation with songs in a variety of styles. The songs don't contain violent or derogatory references, but still have an edge that appeals to younger audiences. The goal is to combat the explicit content being marketed in a way that isn't "stupid." His songs often reflect on the arbitrariness of cultural phenomena, and contain double entendres and hidden meanings. The lyrics are discernable, well thought out, and humorous. They cater to the educated sophomoric.
