Action Palace was Ann action's y2K project. The band was the product of the songwriting collaboration of Ann Action and Peter Muny.
Action Palace was an ambitious original rock band based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The band needed to express their emotions through words and music, so expression was the focus.
Each song was born from unrest, by whatever means necessary.
Like hyper-vigilant ruptured ghosts in an overstuffed consumer society, Action Palace was superimposed on the pop music scene.
Spawned by the band's dedication to originality and rejection of cliche, the songs of Action Palace have catchy melody lines and unusual arrangements.
The songs speak to people who are drawn to sonic exploration of the unexpected, to the lyric that carries the double-edged sword of criticism and compassion, of satire and grace.
The songs speak to people who need tension, release and drama in their music, to people who would rather be challenged by a fresh new sound than numbed by pop conformity.
Action Palace did not choose Music; Music chose Action Palace.
Music chose Mike Spinrad on the drums & percussion, Iseult Jorden on backup vocals & percussion, Paul Kovin on Guitars, Larry the O on Midi Mallet Synth , Peter Muny on bass, and Ann Action on lead vocals.
