Fatter Than Albert has been skanking through the New Orleans scene since January of 2004. With their explosive live shows and incorporation of jazz riffs to ska/ punk music they have created an experience that keeps the crowd coming back for more. Fatter Than Albert has played numerous shows to over 300 people, embarked on frequent regional and out of state weekend performances, and has successfully completed two U.S. tours. In the process they have made an impressive impact on their hometown as well as nationally and have developed a sound that is uniquely their own.
On July 14th 2006 the band will release their sophomore record entitled "Erin's Runaway Imagination". This album features 11 tracks of high energy ska, punk, and reggae. After a year of recording, mixing, and fine-tuning Fatter Than Albert has created an accurate reflection of their explosive live shows and distinct sound. The album was produced by the New Orleans company Walking Man Sound and will be independently released. On July 25 th 2006 Fatter Than Albert will embark on their 3rd U.S. tour, this time accompanied by their New Orleans Ska brethren Samurai Deli. The month long tour will be in support of their new album and will tell the rest of the U.S. what the New Orleans Ska scene already knows-- Fatter Than Albert brings a stage presence and live performance that cannot be ignored.
