Brothers Nasrat -
As part of a family that valued time with each other for musical traditions, Freidon developed in tabla drumming alongside his father, and brother Homayun who both sang in Farsi and played harmonium. Brothers Nasrat were exiled from Afghanastan during the Soviet invasion, They now live in the U.S. and are becoming known for their adaptive interpretations of of Raga and Afghan music, including the songs of Ahmad Zahir, and a zeal for blending genres with Western music,.
John January -
A California Native and original, guitarist John January came up through the area'a Alternative music scene. After favorable reviews locally, nationally and also in Europe, John played throughout the U.S. and Canada with the John January Band based in Portland, Oregon. Eventually relocating back to Southern California this CONCERT CD with Brothers Nasrat continues the flow of John's SOUL REMAINS album which combines ethnically flavored guitar workouts with melodic and topical songs.
