Abeb Halabi - a famous percussionist in Lebanon before he moved to Europe - started to write his first compositions under the production of Abdel Hazim. Abdel wrote the arrangements and played some of the instruments like gembri, Egyptian kaval, systrum and derwish drum.
This belly dance album entitled "HATSHEPSUT" is dedicated to the Queen pharao Hatshepsut who ruled Egypt a couple of thousand years ago. The title piece includes instruments like guembri, bassoon, flute, darabukka soprano saxophone and a bunka-bunk.
The rest of the tracks are crispy ethno-tribal rhythms arranged and composed by Abdel Hazim. The selection of rhythms from Syria, the Gulf region, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Egypt are played by master percussionist Abed Halabi in a production of Abdel Hazim. Abed played Egyptian percussion instruments like deff, mazhar, darabukka and sagat.
